Resolving the company before analysing it.
Corporate intelligence is the work of establishing what an entity actually is — its identity, structure, ownership and relationships — before any analysis of it can be trusted.

Most analytical errors are identity errors.
A company name is not an identity. The same name appears across jurisdictions, registries record different numbers for the same entity, and a group's economic reality sits in a structure the name does not describe.
Corporate intelligence resolves that first: one entity, one record, with its position in the group and the relationships around it made explicit and typed.
Entity resolution
Matching registry records, filings and reported references to a single entity — and, just as importantly, separating entities that look alike. Registration number, jurisdiction, address history and directorship overlap all carry weight.
Ownership mapping
Shareholding above the disclosure threshold, traced through intermediate vehicles to beneficial ownership where the record supports it. Where it does not, the chain is shown as far as it goes rather than completed by inference.
Subsidiary structures
Operating companies, holding companies, special-purpose vehicles and dormant entities behave differently. Classifying them changes how consolidated figures should be read.
Directorships
Directors and officers, and where else they appear. Cross-appointments across otherwise unconnected companies are frequently the first visible edge of a network.
Transactions between entities
Flows inside a resolved structure — intercompany, related-party, or between entities sharing an owner — read as part of the structure rather than as isolated line items.
Corporate networks
The graph that results: companies, people, addresses and jurisdictions, with each edge typed as ownership, relationship, transaction or reported association.
Evidence attribution
Every node and edge keeps the registry extract or filing it was derived from, so the structure can be checked rather than accepted.
Identity is established before any figure is attributed to the entity.
An ownership link and a reported association are not the same claim and are not drawn the same way.
Chains are shown as far as the disclosure supports and no further.
Each element of the structure can be opened to the record behind it.
